Eat what you catch

My dear friend Chuck went on a fishing trip to Yosemite and brought me this beautiful trout. Lucky for me, I love to fish. It's funny how you would think a girly woman like me would want to get my hands dirty, hook a bait, cast a pole out, and wait for hours until something like this rattled me out of a daydream. Actually, my father is an avid deep ocean fisher man. His friends were too lazy to get up at the crack of dawn so he would take me along with him as his companion.

First we started off with lake fishing. Then he took me out on a charter boat off the Pacific Ocean. Our live sardine bait was the size of the fish we would catch at the lakes. With the poor sardine wrestling helplessly at the end of my line, the bite was instant.

We caught yellowtail tuna all day thanks to warm currents brought on by the "El Nino". Wrestling a 20 pound fish was no joke. It got my adrenaline going, and made my arms sore for days afterwards. The best part about fishing is, you eat what you catch, and you have further appreciation of where the food comes from.

Thank you Chuck- this beautiful fish reminds me of great trips I had with my father.
