Dog beach day

Today has been the hottest day in Southern California. Finally the clouds have lifted and we have summer. Since Paul and I had the Friday off, we thought we would take Mocha to the dog beach in Long Beach and hope that she can cool off in the water.
She's never really swam before, so she was hesitant to go inside. But slowly, paw by paw, she tested the waters and realized, it's not so bad. I threw my slippers off and went in the water to encourage her. She followed and had the best time. One of the bigger waves got her, and she got soaked from head to toe. In effort to get herself dry, she rolled around in the sand became a bigger mess.
Overall, the perfect day at the beach.
