Press Check- design process

From the earlier entry, I promised myself that I would document my design process. This is a press check at Queen Beach printers with Mike Cunningham for Port of Long Beach Annual Report.

After all the photographs, illustrations, and copywriting is done, we compose everything so the layout looks interesting and visual. The great thing about a designer is that what we produce comes alive. In order to be a great designer, you need to understand the manufacturing process. How do machines work? How do paints and colors react to different type of paper?

A press check is when I go to the shop and see for myself how finished product looks like compared to the prototyping stage...before we run all 7,000 copies.

So far, our Annual Report looks awesome. Big shout outs to our Graphics department!
