Tour of Quebec City, Canada
After the wedding, Paul and I got to stay in Quebec City for a week and enjoy the honeymoon stage of our trip.
Quebec City, Canada was founded in 1608 by the French explorer, Samuel de Champlain.
"Quebec" means "the river narrows here"- rightfully named since the settlement is next to the St. Lawrence River. The City is influenced heavily by France.
The old buildings, the language, and the food are all soooo French.
Quebec City is a great introduction to Paris for Paul. Maybe Europe will be our next big trip next year.
Quebec has blistering cold winters
So we would stop in at local Pubs and warm up with a pint of beer.
Enjoyed the view from our room in Chateau de Frontenac.
And went to the Chocolate Museum for some hot chocolate.
For breakfast, we ate fresh Crepes at the restaurant next door.
And played in the snow
Ate tons of yummy food
From French Macaroons...my absolute favorite!
To Maple ice cream, to Maple latte, to Maple glazed waffles.
And most interestingly, an eel sushi roll with foie gras. (Just to note, I don't agree with the how foie gras is made so therefore, I will never order it again).
And try to work out in the snow after a decadent 7 course French meal.
And participated in the Winter Carnival-the little figure is named Bonhomme, half snow man and half elf is the official mascot of the Quebec Winter Festival. With this little figure, we were allowed to enter all the winter festivities.
And lastly, enjoyed ourselves with drinks in frozen ice glasses.
I had so much fun, I would come back to this beautiful city in a heartbeat.
